Little Orphans Kitten Rescue needs fosters

Victoria Fowler @ LOKR

Little Orphans Kitten Rescue (LOKR) is seeking fosters in the Louisville area. Healthy orphaned kittens are euthanized because they end up in shelters and rescues that lack the resources, time, and expertise to deliver the intensive care they need. Since 2011, LOKR has functioned on a foster-based model, depending on fosters who open their homes and hearts to these kittens.

LOKR will host informational sessions at the St. Matthews Library, 3940 Grandview Ave, Louisville, KY 40207, on April 8 from 10 am to 11 am, April 19th from 10 am to 12 pm, and May 8th from 4 pm to 5 pm, and the Middletown Library, 12556 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40243, on May 17th from 10 am to 12 pm, June 7th from 10 am to 12 pm, and June 28th from 10 am to 12 pm.

Orphaned kittens require bottle feeding, administering medications, and proper socialization and warmth. We support our foster by providing free online training and in-person shadowing. LOKR depends on donations, grants, and support from local businesses to cover the costs of veterinary care, medications, and supplies. Anyone interested in fostering or volunteering, please visit  https://orphankittens.org/foster/ and email brennan@orphankittens.org.
