Press Release By Louisville Public Media

Louisville Public Media (LPM) is pleased to announce two new staffers to the organization: Krystal Goodner as All Things Considered Host, effective October 19, 2026, and Veronica Roessler as Community Engagement and Events Manager, effective October 12, 2026. Both roles advance LPM’s strategic priority to deepen community connection across Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana.

Krystal Goodner is a journalist, broadcaster, and storyteller with nearly two decades of experience in television, radio, and community engagement. A familiar voice across the Louisville region, she previously served as a reporter and weekend morning anchor at WDRB and spent a decade in radio at WLOU. Goodner lives in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and is a graduate of Indiana University Southeast with a degree in multimedia journalism.

The All Things Considered Host is one of Louisville Public Media's most prominent public voices, presenting local and regional news within NPR's flagship afternoon news program to a large daily audience and keeping Louisville and Southern Indiana informed. Goodner brings a journalist’s eye and a neighbor’s warmth to the microphone, and she will help audiences understand the news and connect with the people shaping their community. All Things Considered airs Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 89.3 WFPL.

“Returning to the air as the host of All Things Considered on 89.3 WFPL is both a joy and a privilege. Louisville and Southern Indiana are home, and it means so much to continue informing, engaging and connecting with the community that has shaped me,” said Goodner. “I’m honored to join Louisville Public Media and a team that values trusted journalism, meaningful conversations and the people behind every story.”

Veronica Roessler, a seasoned event professional whose resume includes the Kentucky Derby Festival and Olivia Elise Events, joins the marketing team at LPM, leading event production and community engagement. Her work will range from large-scale events like WFPK Waterfront Wednesday to intimate gatherings with donors and community members. She will help LPM reach new audiences, grow support from members and donors, and build lasting relationships across Greater Louisville, especially with people who haven’t yet seen public media as being for them. Roessler is also a graduate of Indiana University Southeast, where she studied secondary education, social studies and world language.

“Our new strategic plan tasks us with becoming Louisville’s essential daily habit, and that starts with people who are rooted in this community. Krystal Goodner is a community-minded journalist who has been part of this region’s daily life for nearly 20 years. Veronica Roessler knows how to bring people together, and she’ll help us show up in every corner of our neighborhoods,” said Kenya Young, LPM’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We’re thrilled to welcome them both as we continue to make an impact, build deeper relationships and connect with neighbors in our communities.”

Katherine Six, who has served as Grants Manager at LPM since 2021, has been promoted to the newly created role of Director of Development Operations. This role stems from the organization’s new strategic plan, which calls for sustained revenue growth. It gives dedicated focus to the research, systems, and planning that make that growth possible year over year. Six will continue to lead LPM’s grants management while also focusing on prospect research for major gifts, metrics tracking, budgeting, and cross-functional planning.

I'm excited to see Krystal Goodner and Veronica Roessler stepping into such impactful roles at Louisville Public Media! Their backgrounds seem perfect for advancing community-focused storytelling. How do you think their experience will shape the station's approach to local issues? Also, have they expressed any interest in covering sports like Golf Orbit? That could be fascinating!
