Press Release - Change Today, Change Tomorrow

Fresh off being honored as Community Organization of the Year at the 2025 Black Owned Business Excellence Awards, Change Today, Change
Tomorrow (CTCT) is marking Juneteenth and Pride with a powerful evening of celebration
and connection. In collaboration with the After Work Kickback, CTCT invites the public to
Trellis Brewing on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 6–9 PM for a joyful, curated gathering in
the heart of the Smoketown neighborhood.
This After Work Kickback is more than just an event—it’s a cultural moment. Held in one of
Louisville’s most historic Black neighborhoods, the gathering centers community joy and
safety among activists, organizers, and culture-shifters. “We fight hard, and we deserve to
celebrate just as hard,” said Taylor Ryan, Executive Director of CTCT. “This moment is about
recharging with people who understand what it means to lead, to disrupt, and to care.”
The evening features:
● Cocktails by Sher’ri Jenkins, curated with care and sponsored by Angel’s Envy
● A collaborative DJ set from Always Nasty, featuring DJ Always and DJ D Nasti
● Food by POCO, serving bold and beautiful bites
● A preview of a Feed the West-inspired cocktail first debuted at the West End Farmers
Market launch
“This is what community activation looks like,” said Sher’ri Jenkins. “It’s people showing up
for each other, building culture, and grounding in joy.”
CTCT is proud to co-create this space during a season that honors both Black liberation and
LGBTQ+ resistance. As gentrification and erasure threaten legacy communities, gatherings
like this offer a reminder: we are still here, we are still creating, and we are still building
something that can’t be co-opted.
