FILLIES DERBY BALL

An evening of masks, mystery, and royal tradition came to life at the Derby Ball, one of the Kentucky Derby Festival’s signature events. This year’s black-tie theme, A Royal Masquerade, transformed the Omni Louisville Hotel into a Venetian-inspired celebration of elegance and pageantry. Guests began the night with a cocktail reception styled like a lively Venetian marketplace before moving into an elegant dinner and dessert service. One of the evening’s highlights was the crowning of the 2026 Kentucky Derby Festival Queen, Tania Vergara- Gongora, traditionally decided by the spin of the wheel, marking a standout moment in the Festival season. The celebration continued with live and silent auctions, followed by dancing and live entertainment from The Juice Box Heroes.
