A final farewell to Stan’s
If you drive by Lexington Road often, you’ve probably been watching as the numbers in the window at Stan’s Fish Sandwich count down to closing day. This Saturday, May 28, will mark the end of an era for all of us who have known and loved Stan’s for the last 24 years.
Spring has sprung
A gorgeous bowl of fragrant yellow daffodils with orange “lips” was sent to me on the first day of spring last week by former Operation Brightside guiding light, Barkley Payne, who went on to Chicago to be honored by the American Dental Association.
Celebrating Fat Tuesday
St. Matthews had its own “Mardi Gras Parade” on Fat Tuesday, March 8, at Stan’s Fish Sandwich. Customers for 24 years streamed in for complimentary New Orleans style gumbo, red beans and rice, fried oysters and two 6-foot po’ boys.
