Scene & Snapped: This week in parties, Best Buddies Kentucky honored Amanda Mertz and other volunteers at the 2012 Champion of the Year awards ceremony, favorite local businesses and professionals were honored at the annual Best of Louisville Bash at Churchill Downs, Actors Theatre of Louisville held a “Cocktails & Costumes” party in its costume shop and attendees dressed to impress at the Lite 106.9 Rewind Prom held at Kye’s.
Celebrating a ‘Derby baby’
It was Derby Day 13 years ago when Brette Baughman, daughter of Amy Baughman, was born. Amy distinctly remembers Real Quiet winning the Derby that day, May 2, 1998, and Brette has always been known as a “Derby baby.”
