The excitement that is the Kentucky Derby is so close, yet so far away. So to feed my Derby craving, I took a trip down to New Orleans for the Louisiana Derby at Fairgrounds! A long weekend was not long enough in the Big Easy with so many attractions, incredible eateries, and the people watching – forget about it!

Celebrating Fat Tuesday
St. Matthews had its own “Mardi Gras Parade” on Fat Tuesday, March 8, at Stan’s Fish Sandwich. Customers for 24 years streamed in for complimentary New Orleans style gumbo, red beans and rice, fried oysters and two 6-foot po’ boys.
