Glasgow’s Goodman Reached Top At NBC, But Mule Came First

| July 12, 2012

Julian Goodman, a native of Glasgow, Ky., who made it to heights not reached by any other Kentuckian, died recently in Juno Beach, Fla., at  90.

When he was named president of NBC in 1965, he called his family in Glasgow to tell them his good news.

Goodman’s father told him that he was proud of him, but he had to hang up to get to a mule sale.

Said his father, “A man can always use another mule.”
