Game Of The Week: Marion County Vs. Notre Dame
Marion County’s girls basketball team defeated Notre Dame 52-36 to claim victory in the state title game of the KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 at E.A. Diddle Arena on March 16.
Kentucky signee and Gatorade Kentucky Girls Player of the Year Makayla Epps scored 15 points, while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out five assists for Marion County. Epps was named Sweet 16 MVP.
Saturday’s win marked the first Girls Sweet 16 title for Marion County in eight state tournament appearances. The win also capped an incredible undefeated season for the Lady Knights.
