Wendy and David Novak and Yum! Brands hosted a very special event to raise awareness and funds for the cause of hunger. The celebration was a 1960s “Flashback Ball” held at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage. The evening featured cocktails, dinner, live entertainment and a live auction.

Thanks to all of the many supporters and corporate sponsors, the event raised $800,000 for the World Food Programme and the Dare to Care Food Bank. This represents over 3 million meals for families and children in need.

Yum! remains committed to solving hunger right here at home. Sadly, one in four children in Louisville is at risk of going to bed hungry each night. Since 2002, the YUM! Brands Foundation has committed over $10 million dollars and, every year, over 10 million pounds of food to end hunger through our partnership with the local Dare to Care Food Bank, Louisville’s largest hunger relief organization.

According to a release from Yum! Brands, “Thanks to community commitment and involvement, we can work together to end hunger here and around the world – and move millions of people from hunger to hope.”
