One of Louisville’s hottest boutique’s is behind the celebs who will help pack The Julep 2012.
Glasscock Boutique has helped secure a guest list for the Derby Eve gala that includes fashion designer Christian Siriano, actor Fred Willard, Green Bay Packers linebacker AJ Hawk, “Glee Star” Max Adler, Zachery Ty Bryan, of “Home Improvement” fame, actress Doris Roberts and actor-producer David Arquette.
The Julep, which benefits the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, is May 4 at The Galt House. Glasscock owner Mary F and her husband Ed Glasscock are serving as honorary chairs of the event along with University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong and his wife, Victoria.
“Ed and I are both excited about the opportunity to serve as honorary chairs,” said Mary F Glasscock. “The James Graham Brown Cancer Center is one of the jewels in Louisville’s crown, and such a vital part of the continued growth of our community. We are grateful that these famous individuals are willing to lend their star-power to our cause. And it has been delightful to work with Coach Strong and Victoria to see this project through to fruition.”
The push to land reconizable names for The julep began when Glasscock representative Todd Calvert attended Fashion Week in New York City. “It became a game: Who could I walk up to next and convince to join us for The Julep?” he said.
The Julep is the largest annual fundraiser for the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. Besides Glasscock, other sponsors include Brown-Forman, Churchill Downs, Frost Brown Todd and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
