The Barnstable Brown Party

If you’re familiar with the Kentucky Derby then chances are you’re familiar with the Barnstable Brown Derby Eve Gala. The event is co-hosted by twin sisters Patricia and Priscilla, whom were brought to fame as the Doublemint twins. The black-tie soiree is held in the heart of the Highlands home of Patricia Barnstable. For more than two decades, A-list celebrities have continued to make their way to one of the most coveted tickets of Derby weekend.

The Julep

The eve before the greatest two minutes in sports, The Julep is a gala you won’t want to miss. This gala offers guests a grandiose Derby experience, complete with a red carpet entrance, so everyone feels like a celebrity. This evening is also about recognizing the ground-breaking achievements of the James Brown Graham Cancer Center.

Unbridled Eve

This year marks the inaugural event for Unbridled Eve hosted by sisters Tonya York Dees and Tammy York Day. This black-tie optional event will be held at the Galt House in the Archibald Cochran Ballroom. Enjoy a fun-filled evening with a red carpet entrance, specialty bars, silent and live auction while listening to music by Alabama’s Randy Owen and his band, as well as DJ 2nd Nature, while supporting benefiting charity Blessings in a Backpack.

Taste of Derby

Taste of Derby 2011 was held in the atrium of Slugger Field.What a great way to kick off your Derby weekend at the third annual Taste of Derby. This event held at the Louisville Executive Aviation Hanger at Bowman Field, celebrates cuisine from racetracks all over the country. Chefs from each destination prepare their signature dish and pair them with palatable wines. Guest will enjoy live music while mingling with horseracing celebrities and Hollywood celebrities with partial proceeds benefiting hunger relief organizations.

The Rose Collar Soiree

On Oak’s Eve, David Son and Kate Kimsey will host the second annual Rose Collar Soiree held in the heart of St. Matthews at Majids, 3930 Chenoweth Square. Rose Collar will help raise money while bringing awareness in India for victims of sex trafficking. Guest will enjoy a five-course dinner and the Rose Lounge will be open until 1 a.m.

Jocktails at the Derby

There’s no better way to kick off the Kentucky Derby than joining J Wagner Group and Woodford Reserve at Jocktails at the Derby. Kentucky Derby jockeys will serve as the evening’s bartenders; all proceeds are donated to the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. The event is Wednesday, May 2, at Prime Lounge, 106 W. Main St., beginning with an invite-only private reception at 7 p.m. The event will open to the public at 10 p.m.
