Carla Sue: Such a fittingly admiring article for such a wonderful person, Sug. Knowing Sug gave a whole new meaning to the word “friendship” and I’ll always miss her too. She was always so helpful in ways that you didn’t even know you needed help to start with.

Sug welcomed us into her home one holiday season and I’ve never experienced such a Christmas wonderland…the room filled with her warm, welcoming spirit. Even with our toddler in tow yanking at ornaments, Sug just laughed with us and delighted in the joy of the season. She was a remarkable woman who made a lasting impression on our family. Thank you for capturing her beauty inside and out.

Thank you, Carla Sue, for such a glorious article about an extraordinary woman! I knew her for 35 years, first as “Lee” in New York City and then as “Sug” in Louisville — and watched the transformation from fashion industry insider into Louisville philanthropist — and always kind and gentle friend. She raised the bar for everyone in her always wise ways… I will miss her always as I’m sure all of Louisville will miss her. There won’t be another like her anytime soon…
