Wade Mountz Heritage Society
Ten families have joined the Wade Mountz Heritage Society after making gifts totaling more than $4.85 million to the Children’s Hospital Foundation and/or Norton Healthcare Foundation. Established in 2008, the society recognizes individuals who have made irrevocable planned gifts of $100,000 or more to the foundations. To date, members of the society have donated more than $29.2 million toward the future of health care in our community.
New Boutique Opens
The Tangerine Closet, a new, locally-owned retail clothing boutique has just opened at 2359 Frankfort Avenue. The shop held its grand opening on May 25, the evening of the last FAT Friday Trolley Hop.
The Tangerine Closet offers apparel and accessories for women.
St. Francis in the Fields Farmers Market
The St. Francis in the Fields Farmers Market, 6710 Wolf Pen Branch Road, will be held Tuesdays from 3 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting June 2. The market will close in October.
Fourth Annual Spin-A-Yarn Storytelling Festival
The fourth annual Spin-A-Yarn Storytelling Festival will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at The Little Loomhouse, 328 Kenwood Hill Road. Cost is $2 general admission. The day will feature storytelling from eleven talented Kentuckiana residents, including Dawn Gee of WAVE 3 News, bluegrass music from The Shuttle Winders, weaving and spinning demonstrations, authentic Cherokee crafts on display and historic cabin tours. American Red Cross Workplace Seminar
The American Red Cross can make it easy for you to create a safer and better prepared workplace, while protecting your employees. An American Red Cross Workplace Seminar will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on June 6, at the American Red Cross Louisville Area Chapter, 510 E.
