Chamber of Commerce Business Expo
Seventy-five large and small companies alike will participate in the St. Matthews Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo, July 19 at Trinity High School. All businesses, chambers, and professionals are invited to this one-day-only, business-to-business event. To enter, attendees will need a business card.
The event will run from 3 to 6 p.m, and participating companies will be on-hand to discuss their businesses with others in attendance, while attendees have the opportunity to network with other businesses and share information about their own products and services. The event is expected to energize the business community and grow local commerce.

Southeast Christian Plans Third Campus
Southeast Christian Church has announced plans to open a third regional campus by Fall 2013. The campus will be located on ten acres purchased from Christian Academy, in the southwest region of Louisville near Dixie Highway and St. Andrews Church Road, three miles south of the Watterson Expressway.
Southeast will construct a 40,000-square-foot building on this site, which will house a sanctuary containing approximately 1,000 seats, adult classrooms, a cafe, offices and a nursery. Although Southeast and Christian Academy will remain independent of one another, they plan to share resources: the school will use the church’s auditorium during the week, and the church has plans to use the school’s classroom and gymnasium space on the weekends. Southeast was one of the nine founding churches of Christian Academy and has been a partner of the school for 35 years.

Goodwill Tenth Location To Open
Construction is nearly complete at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky’s tenth Louisville donation and retail center. Located on Hurstbourne Parkway just south of Shelbyville Road, the site formerly occupied by Piccadilly Cafeteria will house a 15,000-sq. ft. building, including a donation drive-thru, processing area and retail space. The addition, which will be Goodwill Industries of Kentucky’s 62nd center, is expected to create ten to twelve new jobs.
As one of the largest Goodwill member organizations in the country, Goodwill Industries of Kentucky “turns jeans into jobs” by providing hands-on job training for individuals with disabilities or other disadvantages, job counseling, supported employment and adult literacy programs. Market Leader Louisville, Jewish Hospital President Named
KentuckyOne Health has named Valinda Rutledge as Market Leader Louisville and President of Jewish Hospital, effective July 23, 2012. She will have responsibility for the oversight of the Jewish Hospital downtown medical campus, Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, Our Lady of Peace and Frazier Rehab Institute, all in Louisville, in addition to Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown and Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. Public Meeting To Plan Roadway
Louisville Metro Parks is hosting a public meeting to gather input on how best to provide roadway access and bicycle/pedestrian facilities to the various sections of McNeely Lake Park. The meeting will be held Tuesday, July 17, 6:30 p.m. at Okolona Christian Church, 10801 Faithful Way.
The objective of a roadway would be to connect Mt. Washington Road to the south and Cedar Creek Road to the east. At this meeting, the project design team will present initial ideas developed from public input obtained thus far in the planning process. Planners are seeking further input before the project progresses into the engineering stages.
McNeely Lake Park, a 746-acre park located at 10500 Cedar Creek Road, is one of the largest in the Metro Parks system. The park features a scenic 46-acre fishing lake with an accessible pier and boat ramp, which is owned by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. The Morton Center, Louisville’s only privately funded, non-profit facility treating chemical dependency and other addictions, has announced the appointment of Priscilla McIntosh as Chief Executive Officer. Ms. McIntosh has worked with The Morton Center since 2009.
