After a grueling week of all work and no play, Thursday is like a home stretch for the beginning of your weekend festivities. And with The Voice-Tribune’s recent installment of Third Thursday After-Work Parties, Thursdays are being celebrated properly with good friends and great drinks.
“The Third Thursday After-Work Parties are a perfect fit for The Voice-Tribune,” said Shari Baughman, director of business and community relations for The Voice-Tribune.
“We are thrilled to offer a relaxed evening, highlighting various venues throughout the city at which our readers and online community can mingle, network and gear up for their weekend.”
Not only are Third Thursdays a chance for you to get out of the office (and the cold we thought would never come), but they also present an opportunity for you to explore new workweek hot spots, all while mingling with non co-workers.
“The Voice-Tribune Third Thursday is a fun opportunity to stay connected and meet new friends,” said Third Thursday attendee J.P. Davis. “After working a long hard day, sometimes it’s nice to just kick back, enjoy a drink and laugh a little! It’s also nice to support our locally-owned restaurants and business establishments.”
Titled “Eat – Play – Live,” these midweek outings offer the chance not to just read The Voice but to live it.
If you’ve missed the past two, don’t fret. The third Eat – Play – Live will be Thursday, Dec. 16, at The Seelbach Oakroom Lounge. Enjoy Brown-Forman specialty drinks at a special rate of $6; they include the Korbel New Year’s Kiss and Kentucky Champagne.
Enter to win door prizes while the Oakroom Lounge staff pass bite-sized signature appetizers. This week up for grabs will be a New Year’s Eve Package including a romantic dinner for two in the Oakroom.
Kick off this holiday-party season right by making an appearance at The Voice-Tribune’s Third Thursday After-Work Party. You won’t leave with a stale fruit cake – we promise!

Light music provided by the Oakroom pianist serves as a backdrop for friendly chatter.
The next four Third Thursday’s will be held on Jan. 20, Feb. 17, March 24 and April 21. So mark your calendars.
