Dessert Delights: Girl Scout Cookies Take Center Stage
Last week, local chefs competed at Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana Desserts First, an annual event that pits culinary experts against one other in a contest to create best original hors d’oeuvre and dessert crafted with a much-loved ingredient: Girl Scout cookies.
Comfy Cow won the Golden Whisk Award with a dessert called Holy Samoa, Batman.
The Golden Grater Award, which is awarded to the maker of the best appetizer, went to Blu Italian Grill for a superb Jumbo Lump Crabcake.

Golden Whisk Award (Best Dessert)
COMFY COW
Holy Samoa, Batman
1 quart Dulce de Leche De Salte ice cream
1 box of Samoas, chopped
8 ounces of hot fudge, slightly warmed to pourable consistency
Mix chopped Girl Scout Cookie Samoas into slightly softened ice cream and swirl in hot fudge. Return to freezer until frozen.
Golden Grater Award (Best Appetizer)
BLU ITALIAN GRILL
Jumbo Lump Crabcakes with Lemon Basil Aioli (by Blu Italian)
1 lb. Jumbo Lump crab
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 T. Dijon
3 T. Mayo
1 teaspoon Old Bay
3 eggs, beaten
½ cup Girl Scout Cookie Trefoil cookie crumbs
1 T. chives, chopped
Mix all ingredients together and form into ten 2 oz. cakes. Sear on each side for approximately 3 minutes and serve.
