Retired racing Greyhounds of every color, age, size and pedigree are heading to Louisville from around the region to attend the 2012 annual gathering sponsored by the Louisville chapter of Greyhound Pets of America. Approximately 100 retired racers and their owners from across Kentuckiana are expected to come together on Oct. 27 from noon until 5 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, 1101 Grade Lane. This is an indoor event so the weather won’t be an issue.
The dogs will spend the afternoon milling around, maybe napping, while their human companions visit with friends, enjoy lunch, shop at Greyhound-related vendors, participate in raffles and auctions, play games and have lots of “grey†fun. All Greyhound owners and anyone interested in learning more about these amazing dogs are invited to attend. An attendance donation of $5 is requested from all adult attendees; children under 12 are free. This is a Greyhounds only event; attendees are asked to leave their other pets at home.
