Inspired by her only daughter, Mekhia, and a fondness of fashion, Ashley Bonner dreamt of opening a children’s clothing boutique for young divas all around. Believing every little girl should feel like a princess inside and out, she set out to offer the best in designer clothing, from everyday wear to posh, couture pieces, thus bringing to life My Bel Amour – French for “My Beautiful Love.”

Beginning as an online store two years ago, My Bel Amour quickly garnered success, prompting Bonner to open a physical store last year, with the perfect cozy locale on Main Street in Middletown. Inside the upscale children’s boutique, you’ll find the latest chic and trendy styles in dresses, shoes, head wear and accessories for babies and children. My Bel Amour also prides itself on carrying top designer brand names, including Mud Pie, Jamie Rae, Lemon Loves Lime, Twirls and Twigs and Haute Baby.

One day your daughter will insist she dress herself. Until then, provide her with a foundation of fashion-forward thinking by giving her the gift of fabulous apparel fit for a dazzling diva in development.

My Bel Amour, 11701 Main St. in Middletown, is open Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The boutique also provides a small assortment of pieces for dapper young dudes as well, along with the popular WubbaNub pacifiers, diaper bags and baby shower gifts. Ashley Anderson

Ashley spends half her time writing stories at The Voice-Tribune office and half her time out on the town conducting interviews, while occasionally dressing in wild outfits to fully immerse herself in the experience (aka Princess Leia at Comic Con). Ashley is a huge UofL fan and loves the Yankees and the Boston Celtics (she is fully aware of the irony). She hopes to one day outshine Erin Andrews on ESPN and enjoys running, Bardstown Road/Fourth Street, Breaking Bad and reality TV (she’s not ashamed to admit that).
