For the past three decades, Dr. Zein Obagi set the standard in skin care through a passion for research and dedication to developing a world-class product line.
While many companies falsely promise a proven formula for perfecting or refining the skin, the board-certified Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology has found a verifiable solution for men, women and children’s most common epithelial issues.
Having studied pathology before shifting to the field of dermatology, Obagi has a knack for searching for the source of a problem. He attributes his success in skin care to his “inquisitive mind.” Decades of science and experience have been invested into his product line, which is suited for everyone regardless of skin condition, age, gender
“Once we understood the problem (behind certain skin issues) as well as the dysfunctioning cells, then (we were able to discern) the treatment of a variety of skin issues,” Obagi said. “It all becomes really clear to us that this is the way to treat the surface. You don’t just cover the fire you, stop the fire at
Since 1989, Obagi – nicknamed the “King of Skin” – has maintained his private dermatology practice in the aesthetics capitol of the world, Beverly Hills. But on Sept. 6, he’ll make a new temporary home in the Derby City as a guest of CaloSpa Rejuvenation Center’s product launch party, Beverly Hills in the Ville.
Held inside the Palace Theatre, the skin-savvy soiree will feature a discussion led by Obagi regarding his latest product lines, ZO Skin Health and ZO Medical, which will be carried exclusively in Louisville at CaloSpa, 2341 Lime Kiln Lane.
ZO Medical and ZO Skin Health treat a wide range of skin conditions, both cosmetic and clinical. The ZO Medical line, only available through leading health care professionals, can be used on skin of any age to improve a variety of issues, including acne, sun damage, lines and wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, rosacea and inflammation. ZO Skin Health is designed to help maintain strong, smooth, healthy skin and can be used on a daily basis in conjunction with the therapeutic treatment of the ZO Medical line.
As the new provider of Dr. Obagi’s skin care lines, CaloSpa Rejuvenation Center will unite Obagi with curious customers hoping to find the answer to the age-old quest to achieve youthful-looking skin. At the launch party, Obagi will share his expertise in skin health with the audience and educate them on research he’s conducted, the solutions he discovered and the most important factors in becoming a smarter skin
“I look forward to my visit,” Obagi said. “We have exciting things (to offer), and the concept of skin care will change. (But) my objective here is to have all skin care companies really start to address the functionality of the skin and to tell people you have to know what to buy and know how things work. … We’re trying to create a smarter consumer … who (doesn’t) fall into the trap of advertising and marking, and (to teach him or her to avoid) the false promises.”
Beverly Hills in The Ville will begin at 5:30 p.m., Sept. 6, with a cocktail reception. An educational seminar presented by Dr. Obagi will follow. Guests will also enjoy music by DJ Ryan Coxx, food by Wiltshire Pantry, spirits and special pricing on ZO skin care products. Tickets for the Beverly Hills in the Ville ZO Launch Party can be purchased in advance for $40 at www.calospa.com or $50 at the door. For more information call 502.814.3000.
