What is your fashion view?
To me, fashion goes hand in hand with liberation. I remember buying cargo shorts and over-sized tees, while attending college in Florida, to blend in with the crowd. At that point in my life, I wanted to fly under the radar and mesh with the masses. Thank goodness I had a “fashion epiphany.”

Fashion is the freedom to tell your story, an opportunity to set yourself apart, and is an extension of my personality.

How do you describe your style?
On-the-go. I choose to stay busy so it’s imperative for my wardrobe to be practical, with flair. I like timeless collections, like Ralph Lauren, mixed with modern touches from stores like H&M or Urban Outfitters. Also, I keep an eye on Mr. Porter’s Facebook page. It’s a great way to watch new trends and is designed specially for men.

What are your favorite pieces?
My Ray-Bans. I used to sit on every pair of sunglasses until I invested in my prescription/polarized aviators from Gaddie Eye Center.

They are my prized possession. I’m three years in now, and my shades are safe and sound.

A vintage top coat. I love everything vintage, and found one heck of a deal at Nitty Gritty last spring. It’s a  herringbone topcoat from Rodes, and I paid less than $100. It’s a generational piece, and the coat I’m wearing in this photo.

My new backpack. It just arrived, and I may have squealed a bit opening the box. It’s Vaqueta Leather and smells divine. David King, of Boston’s leather district, is the designer.

Where is your favorite place to shop?
I shop for my staples at Banana Republic, Dillard’s and Von Maur. I’m really more into the small shops and vintage stores. We have quite the selection here in Louisville, thankfully.

Who is your fashion icon?
I would have to say the late John F. Kennedy Jr., and his family in general. They cultivated a persona of luminous class and elegance. They were and always will be American fashion icons.
