What is your fashion view?
For me fashion is an art form and means of self expression.
How do you describe your style?
I dress for my mood, so my style is quite hard to put a label on. However, one underlying theme in everything I wear is the mixture of masculine and feminine elements. I love the edginess that a touch of androgyny brings to any outfit.
What are your favorite pieces?
I love oversized knits right now. You can pair them with some skinny jeans and killer boots for the day, or a sequin mini and stilettos for an effortless glam look at night. I also love a good blazer, which is probably why I currently own so many of them. They are a perfect layering option and a chic way for me to add that masculine element to my style. I also love any piece that will add a pop of color, texture or print to an outfit. Even if it is something as simple as an animal print shoe.
Where is your favorite place to shop?
Since I am constantly online I must admit that I do most of my shopping there. I am currently a huge fan of sites that have tackled the newest trend of online flash sales, such as Gilt Groupe, Ideeli and Rue La La. They have new designer deals every day, which is exciting. However, I am also a big fan of local businesses, so I do dabble a bit in the boutique scene in Louisville as well.
Dress & Dwell and Clodhoppers are two boutiques that I truly enjoy because they not only bring an impeccable selection of clothing to the local market, but they also have been supportive of me and The Chic Sheet since the very beginning.
Who is your fashion icon? Why?
This is a hard question to answer because I am actually very inspired by many women in the fashion industry. I am inspired by Hanneli, Taylor Tomasi Hill, Elin Kling, and of course the iconic Kate Moss. However, lately I find myself always drawn to Christine Centenera. She always mixes in masculine elements, keeps it modern, yet manages to make it all look so effortless, and to me that is truly iconic in and of itself.
