Fashion View: Nate Nord

| March 8, 2013

What is your fashion view?

I don’t know if I really have a particular view, I just kind of (buy) whatever I see at the store that I like that I think fits me. It’s hard for me to find clothes because I’m so tall, and it’s really hard for me to find clothes that fit me right. It’s a challenge. You definitely have to be patient when you’re looking for clothes.

How do you describe your style?

More of a preppy style, but just whatever looks good on me at the particular time I’m shopping.

What are your favorite pieces?

I have three pairs of Cole Haan shoes and they’re the best shoes ever. They fit me perfectly.

Where is your favorite place to shop?

I like to shop in department stores. I like Macy’s, Dillard’s. I like to go to outlet stores, too, and Saks Fifth Avenue, Brooks Brothers and J. Crew.

Who is your fashion icon, and why?

Maybe Tom Brady. There’s no one really that I just look to. But, I look at GQ magazine whenever I get a haircut.

Who’s the most stylish on UofL’s football team?

I’d say Coach (Ron) Dugans, he was always trying to look pretty. He has the flashy car, and he always has nice loafers and shoes, and he always has a nice suit.

Have you received your Sugar Bowl ring yet?

No, I haven’t actually. I should ask Coach Strong what’s taking so long.

Are you from Louisville originally?

I was born here. I moved around a lot, and I went to high school in Florida. That’s where I got recruited. My dad (Gary Nord) actually played at Louisville as well. He played tight end, too. That’s a big part of the reason for me wanting to come here. All my family lives here.

Why did you want to work in sales after graduation?

I thought sales would be a good place to start, get some good experience. I didn’t want to sit at a desk all day, I wanted to interact with people, and I thought sales would be fun. Just kind of something different that can prepare me for any career.
