Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Game
As part of its continuous U.S. tour, the nationally renowned Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team visited Louisville over Labor Day weekend to play three exhibition games.
The Wounded Warrior team is comprised of veterans and active-duty soldiers who lost limbs in Iraq and Afghanistan, but through modern prosthetic technology, are able to compete at high levels by wearing devices that allow them to hit, run, catch and throw. The Wounded Warriors only play against able-bodied teams and continue to uphold a winning record.
The Washington Nationals and Louisville Slugger, along with other major American corporations, sponsored the event held at Bellarmine University’s Knights Field and Louisville Slugger Field.
