Worldfest 2012
One of the region’s largest international festivals, Worldfest, celebrated its 10th anniversary over Labor Day weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 2, at the Belvedere in downtown Louisville.
A large crowd enjoyed three days of expanded world food, dance, culture, education, handmade products with styles from Africa, Asia, Europe, and Central and South America, as well as music from local and international talent.
New to Worldfest this year was the Global Village that showcased the culture and customs of more than 22 countries. The lively Parade of Cultures, held annually on the second day of the festival, also took place, featuring local and regional residents in their native dress and performances from a variety of artists.
