WLKY-TV Employee Reunion

| November 15, 2012

More than 120 former and current employees of WLKY-TV gathered at Churchill Downs on Nov. 10 for a day of fun reminiscing and poignant reflection. WLKY-TV celebrated 50 years of broadcasting this past year, debuting to the Metro Louisville community in September of 1961.

Former employees from management, operational and on-air positions traveled from various regions of the United States to join current employees for the day-long festivities in the Aristides Room at Churchill Downs. Former on-air personalities including Ken Rowland, Paul Ryden, Bob Symon and Lanie Pope, as well as former GM Rabun Matthews and former News Director Andy Barton were in attendance.

In celebration, the station sponsored the second race of the day, aptly named “The WLKY Classic.” All attendees gathered in the Winner’s Circle for a group photograph following the sponsored race.
