Waterfront Wednesday
Music-lovers braved the heat June 27 to see their favorite bands play at WFPK’s Waterfront Wednesday concert, held on the Big Four Lawn.
Those attending enjoyed a relaxed festival atmosphere, laid out on blankets, lounged in lawn chairs or danced in front of the stage. Various food and drink booths were kept busy all night, including a bottled water tent that was so popular, the vendors had to call in for reinforcements!
The concert kicked off at 5 p.m. with fast-paced, exuberant folk music by These United States, followed by a mix of old favorites and new releases from indie-rock veterans, The Walkmen. Trampled by Turtles headlined, treating the crowd of fans to their own unique blend of original, bluegrass and folk melodies.
Waterfront Wednesday is held on the Big Four Lawn the last Wednesday of every month, April through September.
