Responsible Rally For Rover At The Big Four Bridge

| April 4, 2013

Waterfront Development Corporation united with The Ramsey Brothers of Lite 106.9, Cox Media Group/WAVE 3, Feeders Supply, Louisville Metro Animal Services, the Kentucky Humane Society and Barkstown Road to promote responsible pet ownership while using the Big Four Bridge.

A Responsible Rally for Rover was held March 24 featuring a symbolic walk, responsible owner pledge, volunteer opportunities and adoptable pets.

The public was encouraged to bring pets and “pick up” bags to the educational event. During the rally, Oberlin Steel performed on the Big Four landing. Free dog bandanas and Bridge Brigade T-shirts, courtesy of Feeders Supply, were given to dog owners who signed the Bridge Brigade Pledge developed by Louisville Metro Animal Services and the Kentucky Humane Society. The pledge includes a promise to clean up after your pet, and it encourages owners to carry extra bags to share, along with education on the importance of keeping public spaces clean.
