Italian Cultural Institute of Louisville Carnevale Celebration
The Italian Cultural Institute of Louisville (ICI) presented its seventh annual Carnevale Celebration on Feb. 12 at the Louisville Boat Club located off River Road.
The event included musical entertainment by the Louisville Mandolin Orchestra, a wine bar, antipasti and dessert tables. Paola DeMarco, the Fashion Institute of Technology student who won ICI’s new $1,000 Carnevale Costume Design competition, made a special guest appearance.
In Italy, the term “Carnevale” signifies the period between Epiphany (Jan. 6) and Ash Wednesday.
The Italian Cultural Institute of Louisville (ICI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, community-based organization committed to the mission of celebrating and sharing Italy’s unique history and culture through events and educational programs.
