Cocktail Party For Judge Angela McCormick Bisig
Supporters of District Judge Angela McCormick Bisig, candidate for Circuit Court Judge, attended a cocktail party July 21 at the home of Glenn Hogan, who hosted the event along with Jessica Green.
The evening of summer fun gave McCormic Bisig and her supporters the opportunity to share delicious drinks and great conversation.

Sheldon Greenberg 85th Birthday Party
Friends and family of Sheldon Greenberg, in town from San Diego, met up at 21C July 21 to celebrate Sheldon’s 85th birthday.
Mr. Greenberg’s children, grandchildren and even four great-grandchildren all traveled to Louisville for the celebratory dinner.

2012 Country Club Swim Association Championships
Friends and family members packed in to watch the 2012 Country Club Swim Asssociation Championships July 22 at the Louisville Country Club.
The Olympic-themed event kicked off with a senior recognition ceremony, after which swimmers competed in categories such as the butterfly and backstroke.

Thirteenth Annual Sam Swope Charity Ride
Bikers and caring citizens met up at the Kosair Shrine Temple July 22 for Sam Swope’s 13th Annual Charity Ride Road Rally, benefitting the children of Kosair Charities.
The crowd enjoyed food, drinks, prizes, raffles, drawings and even a silent auction at the event, which included a special raffle to win a 2012 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic.

Executive Club Of Louisville Bourbon And Wine Tasting
Members and guests of the Executive Club of Louisville celebrated together at the club’s “Summer Light” party July 17 at the Olmsted.
Those in attendance enjoyed a Four Roses Bourbon and Horseshoe Bend Vineyard bourbon and wine tasting, along with a delicious buffet, live piano music and door prizes.

The Dr. Ed Morgan Kiwanis Grand Slam Run
The Dr. Ed Morgan/Kiwanis Grand Slam 4 Mile Run kicked off Saturday, July 21, at 8 a.m. Runners raced started at “home plate” at Louisville Slugger Field, then ran the “bases” of mile 1, 2 and 3, returning to Slugger field for the home run.
The race, named in honor of Dr. Edgar Morgan, a dedicated Kiwanis member and long-time marathon runner, benefitted Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana and the Heuser Hearing and Language Academy. The male and female first-place runners received Louisville Slugger baseball bats and threw throw out the first pitch at the Louisville Bats’ game that night.

Third Thursday After-Work Party
Hawaiian shirts and flip flops dominated the fashion scene at BBC on Fourth Street, July 19, as guests partied the night away at The Voice Tribune-Four Roses Bourbon Summer Luau.
Those attending embraced the sultry weather with frozen Rose’ritas and enjoyed Reggae music, giveaways and complimentary appetizers from BBC’s new summer menu. Even the surprise rainstorm didn’t dampen spirits, as guests moved indoors for trivia and door prizes.

Kindergarten Countdown Fair
Five-year-olds and their families visited Slugger Field July 23 for the annual Kindergarten Countdown Fair.
In partnership with the city, JCPS, Metro United Way, the Louisville Free Public Library and PNC Grow Up Great, the event is designed to help prepare students entering school for the first time.
Those in attendance also received free admission to the Louisville Bats game that evening. Dr. Donna Hargens, superintendent of Jefferson County Public Schools, and Maggie Elder, vice president of community impact for Metro United Way, brought a few of the kindergarteners to the pitcher’s mound to help Mayor Greg Fischer throw out the first pitch.

Brightside / Coca-Cola Volleyball Classic
Volleyball players of all ages and skill levels participated in the 23rd annual Operation Brightside / Coca-Cola Volleyball Classic July 21-22 in Seneca Park.
Spectators cheered on players, including Mayor Greg Fischer and several local notables, in the thrilling Celebrity Volleyball Match held during the classic to support Brightside.
