Sunny Daize’s Best Dressed Pre-Party
Louisville’s unique boutique, Sunny Daize, hosted a fun-filled Best Dressed Pre-Party, Aug. 9, in honor of the Voice-Tribune’s upcoming fashion show presented by Churchill Downs.
Wild Strawberry Hair & Nail Studio offered hair styling and professional makeup. Guests also enjoyed food, fashion and freebies at the event.

Masorti Fundraiser
Masorti: The Fight For Religious Pluralism in Israel, a fundraiser hosted by Rabbi Robert Slosberg, William Yarmuth and Susan Long was held Aug. 7. Those attending enjoyed a delicious dinner and a discussion, led by David Lissy.

MOAA Luncheon
The Louisville Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America held its monthly luncheon Aug. 8 at Wildwood Country Club. Dr. Don Miller, Chief of the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, was the guest speaker at the event.

St. Joseph Orphans’ Picnic
Thousands of Louisvillians made a difference in the lives of local children by attending the 163rd annual St. Joseph Orphans’ Picnic, Aug. 11 at the Children’s Home on Frankfort Avenue. Picnic-goers enjoyed delicious food, such as the picnic’s famous chicken dinner, as well as games of chance, vendor booths and raffles.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to support services offered by the St. Joseph Children’s Home, including the Child Development Center, Residential Treatment Program and the Therapeutic Foster Care and Adoption Program.

Cabo Wabo Summer Party
Cabo Wabo held its summer fundraising party at the Central American Airways hanger at Bowman Field. Cabo Wabo was founded as a fundraising organization to benefit local charities.

Shawnee H.S. 50 Club Luncheon
The Shawnee High School 50 Club held their third annual luncheon, Aug. 11, for all classes that have celebrated the 50th anniversary of their high school graduation. Those attending met at the Holiday Inn on Hurstbourne Parkway to enjoy a buffet and dessert, as well as share memories with former classmates.
