NCAA Festival reception
The NCAA Division II National Championships Festival was in Louisville recently through a joint effort by Bellarmine University and the Louisville Sports Commission. The Festival, an Olympic-style event, had six national championships decided on Dec. 4 and featured 70 teams and more than 800 student-athletes vying for titles in men’s and women’s cross country; women’s field hockey; men’s and women’s soccer; and women’s volleyball.
NCAA President Mark Emmert and other senior level executives were in town for the Festival and gathered at the Louisville Slugger Museum with local corporate and community leaders for a private reception on Dec. 3.

Jacob usually has his eyes glued to a computer screen, editing stories and making sure the paper gets out the door each week. Multi-tasking is his modus operandi – similar to the plate spinners you’d see on the old “Ed Sullivan Show.” Turn ons: freshly-sharpened pencils. Turn offs: exclamation points!!!
