Pendennis Club’s 130th Anniversary Celebration
The Pendennis Club celebrated its 130th anniversary on Jan. 21 with a dinner that replicated the meal served at the unveiling of the Pendennis building on Dec. 11, 1928.
The construction of the club’s building occurred under the leadership of Club President Owsley Brown Sr.

- A video history of the Pendennis was presented and featured former TV anchor, Jackie Hayes and John C. Johnson, who has been with the Pendennis for 56 years.
- Carol and Spencer Harper.
- Derrick Ben, who is captain of the Pendennis waiters, demonstrated the making of Baked Alaska.
- A scene from the video with Jackie Hayes interviewing John Johnson, who is director of member relations and the only honorary Pendennis member.
- Bussie and Laurie Short. Bussie is retired from the Fulton Conway Co.
- Mr. and Mrs. John C. Johnson and Jackie Hayes and Paul Bickel, president of U. S. Specialties.
