Kentucky first lady Jane Beshear and the Kentucky Cancer Program hosted Horses and Hope on Nov. 21 at Churchill Downs.
A sold-out crowd of 800 breast cancer survivors and guests attended the event on Millionaires Row.
Special guests were singer-songwriter Templeton Thompson, who performed her song, “Girls and Horses,” and jockey Otto Thorwarth, who portrayed Ron Turcotte in the movie “Secretariat.”
