For the 2nd year, The Voice is proud to present The Four Roses “Rose Julep Recipe Contest.” This thrilling annual pre-Derby event, presented by Four Roses Bourbon, is a nationally recognized industry contest at which mixologists from Louisville’s finest restaurant and bar establishments will create their own take on Derby’s Classic Cocktail, the Mint Julep.
During the party, these mixologists will showcase their skills in front of a panel of local celebrities and bourbon connoisseurs who will evaluate each Four Roses “Rose Julep” cocktail entry based on taste, presentation and creativity.
The Voice Tribune’s own Angie Fenton will share the stage with the judging panel to add her own unique style of color commentary as the contest progresses.

Patrick Hallahan, drummer of My Morning Jacket
Joy Perrine, Jack’s Lounge nationally recognized mixologist
Fred Minnick, internationally-renowned wine/spirits journalist
Carla Carlton, bourbon industry blogger
This Third Thursday event is one of our most popular and well-attended, so we’ve upped the anty on the fun by offering extended hours, complimentary food stations provided by Crushed Ice Events Catering, specially priced cocktails, and an after-contest dance party with our local favorite band, Kudmani!
So come out and see history in the making and jump start your Derby festivities with The Voice! And we’ll be giving away more tickets to The Julep Ball and The Derby Celebrity Poker Tournament, plus some other great prizes, so make sure to get there before the 7:00 drawing.
Washington Street entrance will offer $5/car valet or paid parking across street in the Humana Parking Garage.
