The Ramble for the Roses
The Ramble for the Roses, held April 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at 425 Kenwood Drive, is an official Kentucky Derby Festival event featuring a non-competitive 5K walk and Fun Run at Iroquois Park and a Mini-Festival near the playground. Participants must register for the event and will receive an official long-sleeved Ramble T-shirt, as well as a voucher for a free ice cream or fruit at the end of the walk. In addition, the first 600 registered walkers will receive a Pegasus Pin for Derby Festival events. Mayor Greg Fischer, council members and other dignitaries will be on hand for the start of this annual event hosted by DeSales, Holy Cross and the Holy Rosary Alumnae Association. The walk/Fun-run will begin at 6 pm. Early registration will take place through April 19, and adult -sized shirts will be $18, while child sizes will be $8. Regular registration, after April 19, will offer adult sized shirts for $20 and child sizes for $10. Register online at www.kdf.org/events-Ramble-for-the-Roses.html.
