‘Mean To Be Free’
Rush Trowel Entertainment presents “Mean To Be Free,” a live stage play that leads the audience through the experience of runaway slaves led by Harriet Tubman, Jan. 31 through Feb 3 at 7 p.m., at the Ursuline Arts Center, 3114 Lexington Road. “Mean to Be Free,” by Joanna H. Kraus, is based on historical accounts of American History and is a story of two black children who traveled the dangerous Underground Railroad north to freedom. Recounting situations that test their courage, determination and strength of spirit, the play illuminates aspects of African American contributions to our American Heritage.
