Mayor’s Youth Opportunity Showcase
The eighth annual Mayor’s Youth Opportunity Showcase will be held Feb. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Kentucky International Convention Center, Exhibit Hall 1 A/B, 221 S. Fourth St. The showcase is a job fair for young adults, ages 16 to 21, in the Louisville area. This event gives young adults a chance to apply for part-time, summer and some full-time jobs, as well as learn about educational and volunteer opportunities in the area. This year, the Mayor’s Youth Opportunity Showcase is a kick-off to The Mayor’s SummerWorks Program for 2013, which is entering its third year of providing meaningful summer employment to Greater Louisville young adults. Those attending should come dressed to interview with employers and have their IDs and copies of their resumes. Youth are being asked to register online at www.kentuckianaworks.org by Jan. 21, for Workforce Readiness Training prior to attending the Mayor’s Youth Opportunity Showcase. Successful completion of the training qualifies each young adult for VIP access to the Showcase and is the first step in registering the youth in the SummerWorks2013 program.
