‘Jackie and Me’

StageOne Family Theatre is proud to present “Jackie and Me” at the Kentucky Center, 501 W. Main St., Feb. 23 from 2 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m., celebrating baseball legend and hero Jackie Robinson. The story follows Joey Stoshack, a headstrong young boy who travels back in time to 1947, meeting one of history’s greatest baseball players, Jackie Robinson; a meeting that will forever change his view of history and his definition of courage. From playwright Steven Dietz, Jackie and Me explores racial issues in the U.S. and its effect on Robinson as a major league ballplayer, including Robinson’s long time relationship with fellow major leaguer (and Louisville’s own) PeeWee Reese. Recommended for ages 8 and up. Single tickets are available through The Kentucky Center for $19.75 each. To purchase, call 502.584.7777, visit the Kentucky Center box office drive-thru at 501 W. Main Street, or go online to www.kentuckycenter.org.
