Festival of Faiths
The 17th Annual Festival of Faiths will take place Nov. 14 through 18 at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage, 1701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd. The theme for this year’s festival is Sacred Fire: Light of Compassion. Festival programs will include keynote addresses, panel discussions, interfaith prayer services, films, music, exhibits, youth events and more. These programs will direct attention to the sacred fire of compassion that enriches our lives and motivates us to serve as good stewards in our congregations, in the workplace, for our environment, in our schools and throughout our neighborhoods. Featured speakers include Mayor Greg Fischer; Rev. Joan Brown Campbell, co-author for the international Charter for Compassion; and Rev. Canon Sally Bingham, founder and president of The Regeneration Project. The annual Night of a Thousand Stars remains a Festival of Faiths mainstay. Many of the events are free. Reservations are required to attend the ticketed events and several of the free events. Registration, a complete schedule of events and information are available at www.festivaloffaiths.org or by calling 502.583.3100.
