Artist Lecture

The University of Louisville Hite Art Institute is pleased to announce a presentation by visiting glass artist, Stephen Cartwright, presented by The Sutherland Endowed Chair in Glass Lecture Series. Cartwright will give a lecture Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Cressman Center for Visual Arts, 100 E. Main St. For more than ten years Stephen Cartwright has recorded his exact latitude, longitude and elevation every hour of every day. This data is embodied physically in his sculptural objects. Other recent work focuses on human alteration of the natural landscape. Cartwright is currently an assistant professor in sculpture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
