It takes action to make positive change, and the students at Holy Trinity Parish School did just that.
Holy Trinity in St. Matthews held its first-ever school wide Walk A Thon, “Walkin’ For Wings,” on Oct. 6.
All 722 students participated in the 2K walk around the school grounds and surrounding neighborhood. By collecting pledges, they raised more than $46,000 for technology enhancements and various other school improvements.
Administration and PTA members made the decision to replace the long-standing magazine drive with the “greener” walk because they viewed it as a positive lesson for the students in the importance of healthy living and interacting with nature.
A pep rally led by the Eagle cheerleaders kicked off the event.
