I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving like I did! I am so thankful that I got to spend time with my family and friends. I got to tell my family in St. Louis about my project and they have been following my column for weeks now. It was nice to share my experiences in person with them.
Looking back on my project so far, I have so many things and people to be thankful for! Here is a quick recap to show my appreciation for all of the people who have helped make this project what it has become.
- Thanks to the Louisville Sports Commission for letting me set up a booth at this year’s first-ever half marathon, all the runners who came out to support and especially my Dad, “Papa Blue,” for running in the name of my project.
- Thanks to the Kelly family for sitting down and letting me interview them about the struggles of organ donation.
- Thanks to the Geer and Evans families for sharing their amazing organ donor story with me.
- Thanks to circuit Court Clerk, David Nicholson and all those out at the Bowman Field License Office and the Trust For Life Organization.
- Thanks to all the members of KODA who have reached out and donated their time.
- Thanks to Terry Meiners and Clear Channel radio station for letting me take TL4L on air.
- Thanks to Reed Yadon, who interviewed me on TV.
- Thanks to Mike Sheehy and CBS Outdoors for their generous donation of the TL4L Billboard.
- Thanks to Anna Parish and the entire Parish Family and my sister Tamar for supporting me through all the deadlines and events.
Additional Thanks
- All my friends and teachers at Collegiate for letting me put TL4L posters up and helping me along the way.
- My mom and all of my family from St. Louis, Louisville, and across the united states.
- The Voice-Tribune staff and my Editor, Angie Fenton.
Lastly, I am so thankful for all of the people who read my column each week, checked and liked my TL4L Facebook page, have followed me through my journey, and of course, organ donors!!
Next week you will read about me interviewing more awesome people making differences in our community and world.
Can’t wait to share it with you!
