This week I caught up with Maria Schapker of Little Black Dress Wines, one of our loyal sponsors for The Voice-Tribune’s Best Dressed of Louisville Presented by Churchill Downs.
The continuous commitment of Little Black Dress Wines has helped bring the city a top-notch fashion show year after year.
The Voice-Tribune is more than excited to have Little Black Dress back as a sponsor for Best Dressed. What makes this partnership a perfect fit?
Little Black Dress Wines are the perfect wines to celebrate all of the glamour, style and fashions associated with the Best Dressed event. What makes it an even more perfect fit is that The Voice-Tribune and Little Black Dress Wines are hosting this event to raise money for this year’s benefiting charity, Dress for Success Louisville and to remind us that giving back is always in style.
How would you describe Little Black Dress to someone who is unfamiliar with the brand?
The little black dress is a simple, timeless statement and a must-have for every woman’s wardrobe. Little Black Dress Wines has taken this fashion icon and created a wine that, like its namesake, is versatile and reliable. Although the concept of a little black dress resonates with every woman, each woman’s style is different. Little Black Dress Wines embraces this diversity in style, capturing only a hanger and pair of high-heel shoes on the label, leaving the image of the dress up to the imagination of the person drinking the wine.
Are there any new products that Little Black Dress will be introducing?
Little Black Dress did add two wines to its portfolio this past spring – 2010 Riesling and 2010 Moscato. The other six varietals in the LBD portfolio are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir.
How has Little Black Dress been involved with Dress for Success?
Little Black Dress Wines’ involvement with Dress for Success dates back to 2007, raising more than $125,000 for charity to date. Since the 2007 awards season, many of Hollywood’s most well-known stars have lent their support to the Little Black Dress Wines charity initiatives by donating autographed bottles of wine and one of their little black dresses.
Every year from January to March, an online auction gives donors the chance to bid on the autographed bottles from some of the most famous people in Hollywood. The proceeds are used to provide professional attire to disadvantaged women in an effort to promote career development. So far Dress for Success has helped more than half a million women feel better about themselves and boost their self-confidence by dressing the part.
