What a repeat performance by the colt I’ll Have Another! Again, the racing world thought Bodemeister would be the horse to beat in the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes. But, again, jockey Mario Gutierrez powered his horse from behind to clip Bodemeister by a neck. The win in the Preakness has started the countdown to the Belmont Stakes and a chance to become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978. Only 12 horses hold the title Triple Crown Winner, and the racing industry could benefit from a new hero.
As the days wind down until I’ll Have Another runs his final race to a potentially monumental victory on June 9, we bystanders can only sit and wait and, of course, vote – but not on this highly anticipated horse race. Rather, this year’s most anticipated event, The Voice-Tribune’s Best Dressed of Louisville, is ready for your write-in nominations.
The past Best Dressed events have caught the eyes and hearts of Louisville, setting us off on our mission to make this year’s even more unforgettable than the last. To do so, we need your help. We can’t make this the event of the year without a breath-taking group of nominees; this is where you come in.
The best part about Best Dressed is that you, the reader, get to pick who you want to see rocking the runway, August 25 at the Marriot Downtown, but the problem is that voting ends on June 4, only giving you a short amount of time to pick the people that you want to see in the spotlight this year.
All you have to do is go online to www.voice-tribune.com to BD2012 and submit your nominees for this year’s Best Dressed of Louisville. You may vote once a day everyday for one female, male, and couple, so choose wisely! Again, voting ends June 4 and nominees for this year will start being revealed on June 7 and will continue on throughout the summer.
So take a second through these busy next two weeks as summer approaches to cast your votes and help us make 2012’s Best Dressed of Louisville as special for you as it is for us.
