I know time flies by when you’re having fun, but it feels like no sooner than I get into my summer groove, it’s almost time for another school year to begin. I’m certainly not wishing the summer months to fly by at this alarming rate. But for us at The Voice-Tribune, it is a sure sign that BD2012 is fast approaching.
While the success of any event depends in large on the people working behind the scenes in the months and weeks leading up to it, the generosity and unwavering support of our sponsors is what allows us to put on such a high-caliber event. We value our partnership with each sponsor who continues to help us make a difference within our community.
As you enjoy the rest of the summer, don’t forget there are just six weeks left until all the nominees are revealed for this year’s event. Once we disclose the women, men and couples whom we’re chosen to compete in BD2012, we need the community to get involved in the voting process.
Our website is user-friendly and designed to make voting and purchasing tickets painless. Whether you choose to sit in a lounge with VIP service, a table that will accommodate four to six, or theater seating that can be purchased in any increment, we have created a number of different packages with our guests in mind.

Churchill Downs has hosted the most exciting two minutes in sports on the first Saturday of May for the past 138 years, but now the historic racetrack has perfected another reason for guests to enjoy horse racing. Since its debut Downs After Dark has been an overnight success, transforming Churchill Downs into a nightclub atmosphere mixed with horse racing. Who in Louisville, Kentucky doesn’t love that combination?
Not to fret if you’ve missed out on the previous Downs After Dark; there is still one date remaining. For the Spring Meet finale on June 30, Churchill Downs will feature a White Party. Don’t be left out of this ultimate experience – wear your white ensemble and party the night away under the lights at Downs After Dark.
Gates open at 4 p.m. Eastern Time. Place your wagers and watch the horses race down the famous Churchill Downs stretch, with the first race beginning at 6 p.m.
