So, we are going to have to wait another year for the possibility of a Triple Crown winner. This time, the chestnut colt didn’t even make it to the starting gate. The excitement swirling around Belmont Park had racing enthusiasts sitting on pins and needles waiting for the colt to make another run.
Unfortunately, I’ll Have Another’s bid to become the 12th horse to win the Triple Crown ended stunningly Friday with an injury to his left front tendon. He was pegged as the favorite to win what’s considered the toughest race of the Triple Crown series. Once an unfamiliar name on the racing circuit, Mario Gutierrez rose from obscurity to grab the hearts and attention of the racing world. Now all we can do is speculate on the possibility of a fairytale ending.
I don’t need a calendar to tell me what time of the year it is. The days get longer, reservations are a must for outdoor dining and kids are enjoying the pool with friends. An unstructured schedule and change of focus is a much-needed break everyone has been looking forward to. But don’t get too relaxed during the next few months. The Voice-Tribune needs its loyal readers to take notice as we begin to reveal the names of this year’s nominee’s for BD2012.
Over the next 8 weeks, find out which women, men and couples have been chosen to take part in this year’s event. As the momentum builds with each passing week, so does the pressure on the Best Dressed team to somehow out-do last year’s show. We’ve set a high standard amongst ourselves and we continue to work in unison to keep raising the bar.
The Voice-Tribune realizes that our event is successful because of the continuous support of its loyal sponsors, recognizing that each partnership is vital to the success of Louisville’s premier fashion show. We truly appreciate the generosity of each sponsor and value the working relationship and trust we have built together over the years.
It’s never too early to purchase your tickets for BD2012. VIP lounges for 10 are $2,500, tables for six are $1,200, tables for four are $800 and runway seating is $135.
