Now that nominations for The Voice-Tribune’s Best Dressed of Louisville Presented by Churchill Downs are all in, it’s time to begin the revealing process to see which women, men and couples will be asked to strut down the runway on Aug. 27 all in the name of giving back to charity.
It’s hard to fathom that the close of the school year is almost here. For some, it’s time to prepare for graduation along with studying for finals, applying to college and finding the perfect prom dress. The smell of summer is in the air, and both students and parents are ready for the beginning of a different regime.
With weeks of festivities that lead our city to the biggest day in horse racing, it just seems a little unfair that it’s all over in a mere two minutes. Early Derby morning sunshine gave way to overcast skies Saturday afternoon at Churchill Downs, but it’s hardly enough to put a damper on the massive crowd that made its way out to Central Avenue.
