Internist Dr. Anne Lansing came from Asheville, N.C., to attend her 40th Louisville Collegiate School reunion in Louisville this weekend. She stayed with her parents, Dr. Allan and Donna Lansing.

Hats off to my all-time idol New York Yankee Derek Jeter whose 3,000th hit Saturday at Yankee Stadium – a home run no less – had millions of fans cheering wildly, including me at home, ready to eat my hotdog to celebrate.

Father’s Day recollections
My own father, William Henry Beck Sr., was one of 12 children. He and my mother, Verna Lilly Becker, had four outstanding sons: William Henry Jr. was a judge advocate general lawyer in World War II who was outstanding as a Supreme Court judge in Kansas City.
