Scene & Snapped: This Week In Parties, Heather Markham was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky, more than $200,000 was raised for the fight against breast cancer at the American Cancer Society’s 15th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk, a chic and edgy party called “Raise the Barre” was held in honor of the Louisville Ballet dancers, the Bluegrass Brewing Company in St. Matthews hosted the second annual Dogtoberfest, and Dreams With Wings presented the 12th annual Jack O’Lantern Stroll at Louisville Slugger Field.
Scene & Snapped: This Week In Parties, the Wednesday Lunch Club held its annual cruise on the Ohio River, awards for excellence in leadership, innovation and service within Kentuckiana’s medical practice were bestowed upon prominent individuals during the 2012 Doctors’ Ball, family and friends gathered at the KFC Yum! Center Plaza on Oct. 13 to celebrate the kick-off to the University of Louisville’s Homecoming and Dreams With Wings hosted the Black Widow’s Ball.
The latest addition to the ever-transforming Butchertown neighborhood might seem like it popped up out of nowhere – spacious, industrial-style lofts featuring exposed brick, metal beams and innovative sliding barn doors – but, much like the historic district itself, the bare bones of this newly-finished project lay hidden in plain sight for years, simply waiting for the right amount of polish.
